Billboard adverts for "80's Youth Culture"

I designed these two billboard adverts to "advertise" the fictional documentary that we made the intro for; "80's Youth Culture". The Rubik's Cube one is my favourite because it's simple and eye catching. People from the era will know what it represents. The ET parody is still good, but I think it sends mixed messages. It could be mistaken for an ET spoof movie if someone saw it but didn't read it properly.

80's Youth Culture

Our group of four was given 7 weeks to make a short video representing any decade, so we chose to make an introduction to a fictional documentary called "80's Youth Culture". We edited it so that it looked like some footage that had come straight out of the 80's, hence the colour desaturation, blurriness and cheesy special effects. We're very pleased with the results and I think we worked well as a team.

Field recording and sharing

Using a Flash microphone I recorded the ambience of a university hallway. Then, in Soundtrack Pro, I cut out parts that didn't suit the sound loop. Afterwards I uploaded it to Flashkit.com for their free sound effect library. This allows anyone to download my sound effect and use it for their own work free of charge.

Stop Motion Experimentation

To showcase my understanding of the concepts behind stop motion animation, integrating audio, and adding motion graphics, I made this short experimental video.
